Shopping malls market index reveals the consumer behavior in 2017
BackThe Christmas of 2017 was better than the year before. This was revealed by the Visits to Shopping Malls Index (IVSC), which recorded a 3.46% increase in flow in relation to the same month of the previous year. The survey is conducted by the Brazilian Association of Shopping Malls (ABRASCE) in partnership with FX Retail Analytics, a company specialized in monitoring and flow for retail.
The increase in the month of December was what has boosted the good performance of the year, which closed with a growth of 0.62%. “The numbers consolidate the last year as the one of economy recovery, we expect that the trend will follow on in 2018, even with World Cup and Elections”, projects Walter Sabini Junior, founding associate of FX Retail Analytics.
In the regional measurement, Southeast and Northeast had the best performances, with increases of 5.84% and 5.10%, respectively. In comparison with November 2017, there was an increase of 8.89% in the whole country.
